POST 5: MY DREAM JOB

Image
Hello everybody! Today I’m going to talk about “dream jobs” and my experience about it. Well, if we talk about dreams, the first dream job that I remember I wanted was be a soccer player. Throughtout my life, I’ve always liked soccer and I’ve been Colo Colo’s fan. That’s why when I was a little boy, I dreamed to be like Matías Fernández who was the best player of America in 2006 when he had only 20 years old. I’m sure there are a lot of persons like me who wanted play like “Matigol” did. When I was growing up I realized that that dream was more like a hobby than a future real job. In spite of this, since when I was a child, I have had other big passion. All my life I have loved travelling and the feeling of adventures, in fact, go to the beach was an explosion of happiness for me. Even to this day I like series and movies of great adventures, for example of pirates who freely travel around the world discovering and knowing everything by themselves. Maybe for this is that in nowada...

POST 4: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hi! How are you today? In this blog, as an archaeology student, I'm going to propose some changes to the curriculum of my university program. Is important to know that students begin by studying anthropology, and in their third year, they choose their specialization, in my case, archaeology. Additionally, I entered the program in 2018, a year after the curriculum was changed. Overall, I appreciate the structure of the new program compared to the previous one. In the past, the main courses were Prehistory of Chile 1, 2, 3 and 4. Nowadays, they are called Prehistory Problems 1, 2, 3 and 4. This is due to the fact that they study aspects that existed before the arrival of Europeans, that is, before the countries were as we know them, and there are problematics that involve territories of more than one country, for example, the northwest of Argentina, Bolivia and the north of Chile. However, due to the unfortunate timing of the COVID-19 pandemic, I missed out on valuable opportunities...

POST 3: MOVIES AND/OR SERIES THAT YOU WOULD RECOMMEND

Image
Hello everybody! Today I’m going to recommend a film that i watched recently. Firstly, I have to say that I’m a person who like cinema, but I don’t watch so many movies, so this one is the last movie I watched and I think is very good. The movie is “Another Round”  directed by Thomas Vinterberg. Is a Danish movie and it is about 4 teachers who are friends and since one of them were depressed, they start a sociological experiment where they must maintain a constant level of alcohol in their bodies, and in this way they would improve their lives and work. “Another Round” invites us to reflect on the issue of alcohol in adulthood but without taking moral or ethical stance. Instead, it presents the facts, allowing viewers to evaluate them based on their own perspectives. Besides, the movie has touches of humor that alleviate the problematic it self.  To conclude, another plus for the movie is that it has performances and songs that I love!  I hope you enjoy it if you wa...

POST 2: BEST HOLIDAYS

Image
Hi! Today I'm going to talk about my best holidays :) My best holidays was between December of 2019 and early March of 2020. It was a backpacking trip with 3 friends and we traveled fron Chiloé,   in the south of Chile, to Algarrobo, in the central coast. From Algarrobo we were able to get to Santiago by car and all the previus trip was “making finger”. In the latter way we were able to visit places such as Quicaví, Detif, Cascada, Lautaro, Valdivia, Concepción and others. We had the opportunity to meet some very nice people, for example a man called Boris who was the boat manager in Caucahué and he did us many favors. Even once Boris brought a friend from one island to another very late. Excluding all kilometers traveled and the places visited, what I most appreciate are the infinite anecdotes and stories that we could spend days telling. A good thing is that every night we wrote a logbook with all the activities that we did during the day, so if we forget things, because ...

POST 1: A COUNTRY YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT -ARGENTINA

Image
Hello everybody ! Many times when people talk about countries they would like to visit, they talk about distant or exotic destinations. In my case, despite being Chilean, I have never been in Argentina and I would love to visit it. A particular motivation to do it is that my best friend have family there and even lived there for a couple of years, so he always tells me to go there. I would love to meet their friends and tour the city of Buenos Aires at night. A fun fact is that my best friend and I love soccer but he’s a River Plate fan and I’m a Colo-Colo fan, and because the stadium of both clubs is called “Monumental”, we always joke about wich one is better. In this regard, I would love to visit many stadiums in Argentina and experince the soccer culture that exist there. Fortunately, since Argentina is on the other side of the Andes I very likely that I will be able to go there sooner rather than later.
